We'd avoid wet food or anything sticky since it can be tricky to clean out properly and might affect the seal over time. It really won't! The water only comes out when you actively press the button, so nothing is flowing unless you want it to. The food lid screws down firmly, and the whole bottle is designed to be tossed into a bag without a second thought. A lot of our customers clip it to the outside of their backpack using the loop, which also keeps any worry about leaks completely off the table.

Both compartments twist apart in seconds, which makes cleanup really straightforward. A quick rinse with warm water after each use is usually all you need. For a deeper clean, a small bottle brush works well for the water section. We'd recommend skipping the dishwasher since the heat can warp the plastic over time and affect the seal, but a simple hand wash takes less than a minute and keeps it in great shape.
